Carp Fishing Thailand
Phil Bell-Scott fished with the Fish Thailand Team last year for a 1 day fishing tour in Bangkok at Bungsamran. That particular day Phil caught 2 Mekong giant catfish over 90lb; today the Fish Thailand Team had quite a challenge to better that last red-letter day.
Phil decided he would to primarily target the elusive Siamese giant carp at Bungsamran.
The bait was in place and many carp were topping throughout the morning showing promise of a result. To pass the time and re-live the moments from last year, Phil was enjoying action from the Mekong catfish on his second rod.
Carp On - Everyone Buzzing!
To everyone's delight the carp rod screamed off and Phil struck into a healthy bend in the rod, shortly after the tell-tell signs that it was indeed a carp were given to us. The fight is never as powerful as a catfish but ten times more intense as the carp skillfully attempts to throw the hook-hold and dive under the angler's feet in constant and desperate measures to loose the hook. Only Phil was no novice and brilliantly beat the fish to submission with a combination of good technique and control. At exactly 40lb - the mission was accomplished. An incredible result for a 1 day carp fishing session which Fish Thailand are well known for.
