First Cast - First Fish - 94lb Mekong Giant Catfish
Every angler at some point has a days fishing where everything works out perfectly. Today certainly worked out just fine for Canadian angler Mike Quiggley - his first cast, his first fish weighed in at an outstanding 94lb of pure Mekong giant catfish muscle!
Fishing in Thailand - In The Deep End
Being the first fish of the day at Bungsamran in Bangkok - Mike had not had a chance to practice the specific & unique playing techniques necessary whilst fishing Bungsamran. Nor had the Fish Thailand Team had previous captures of the day to demonstrate Bungsamran fishing techniques and iron out any problems. None the less, Mike being a very experienced angler and quickly taking note of hints & tips carried out the entire process of playing this incredible Mekong catfish for the full 30 minutes without our guides so much as touching his rod for assistance. Text book stuff Mike - well done!
Mike continued the day with many cracking striped catfish & Mekong catfish to 55lb.
