REPORT

Ricky Clark from England adopted the name 'Ricky Pick' on his previous Bangkok fishing session at Bungsamran a few years ago with Fish Thailand. It came about by losing a big Mekong catfish and a big Siamese carp due to very unlucky hook pulls. When Ricky mentioned that he has been unfortunate previously hook-pulling fish in other countries the 'ping' of a lost fish rather unfairly came to mind.

This year however Ricky came back fishing in Bangkok determined to land a big Siamese carp - he did manage to land a big Mekong over 100lb on his last visit; his persistence and passion to land a big carp had never dwindled.

Day 1 of a 3 day carp fishing session at Bungsamran turned a blank, well for carp anyway. Into day 2 and as 4p.m soon arrived moral was dropping, that is until Ricky slammed into a very big carp. As the carp showed itself for the first time half way through the fight Ricky was shocked at its' size and Fish Thailand guide Alley stopped singing and concentrated on securing this incredibly elusive Siamese carp. In the net and photo shoot in the shallows - it was worth the wait.

Final day 3 and the mood was lively after such a good result the previous day, at lunch time a bonus second Siamese carp graced Ricky with its' presence of around 50lb. Two carp runs and two banked carp - Deed Pol has agreed to change Ricky's name to Ricky 'no ping.'
